Karl Horeis: "Dr. Jeff Rasic made this giant obsidian stone tool with a colleague a few years ago. The obsidian comes from Oregon. Making tools this way is called "flint knapping." Rasic enjoys flint knapping because it helps him understand how the artifacts he finds were made. We don't expect to find anything this large in the Arctic this summer." In Dr. Jeff Rasic's backyard near Fairbanks, Alaska.
