Kiril Ganzey stands next to one of the first tsunami effects that we encountered on our way to Ainu Bay – a line of debris caught when the wave retreated, called a rack line. In the distance behind him you can see large driftwood logs that were pushed up by the biggest of the waves – and the beach is still quite far away! Matua, Kuril Islands, Russia.
