Wendi Pillars: "These engines lived in NYC and Chicago in their former lives in the 1880's, as part of the elevated railways. Train relocation brought them to Nome to ease the miners' work, but a devastating storm destroyed the tracks specially designed for the train and its loads. These mini-locomotives are destined to dissolve in place, rusting out to the rhythms of the Bering Sea and the tundra." About 40 miles east of Nome, Alaska.
