Details

A variety of bird bone artifacts from the Rasshua excavations. The top and bottom artifacts are awls, or leather punches, made from the radius bone of an albatross. The two artifacts in the middle are likely to have been used as needle cases (needles not shown in this image), and were made from the humerus bone of an albatross. Korsakov, Sakhalin Island, Russia.
