Details

An A-Star helicopter takes the team over the Ross Ice Shelf. Helicopter pilots call this the "dirty ice". The dark spots are soil sediments brought from the continent. The ice shelf is continental glacial ice that covers the ocean. Between Ross Island and the McMurdo Dry Valleys, Antarctica.
