A view looking down from under the sea ice, the Arctic ocean water looks black, with a metallic cage holding a CTD (conductivity, temperature, and depth instrument) and a blue hose for pumping water back to the surface held at the proper depth by the braided line. Near the USCGC Healy in the north Canada Basin. 82.49°, -149.83°.
