A seal’s-eye view of a GEOTRACES CTD (conductivity, temperature, and depth instrument) cast. The Healy is in a newly-frozen lead with just an inch or two of ice. There is thicker sea ice in the background. Near the USCGC Healy in the north Canada Basin. 82.49°, -149.83°.
