Casey O'Hara and Chris Elliott inspect the water flowing into the IceTop tanks to make sure everything is flowing properly. The water is not at all briny (salty). It needs to be very pure, with very few ions and very low conductivity; almost to the level of distilled water. Near the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, Antarctica.
