Jeff rode in the inflatable zodiac and took this photo of Oden reflecting in the calm icy water. Notice how small the ice research team looks to the right of the ship. The white ball on top of the ship houses one of the satellite antennas the ship uses to communicate to the rest of the world. The two rectangular holes in the bow of the Oden are where the massive anchors are stored. A 100 feet above the sea, beneath the red line, you can see the windows of the bridge where Jeff spends most of his evenings working at his computer and watching the polar world go by.
