Jeff Peneston rests on the sea ice like a seal. After about five hours of data gathering on the ice, he took a five minute break. With the air temperature just about the freezing point and almost no wind, the weather was so great and their safety suits were so warm that Jeff was able to work without gloves or a hat. However, to protect them from the intense UV rays from the sun they continued to wear sunscreen and polar sunglasses. On the sea ice, near the icebreaker Oden.
