Gerty Ward says, "to bring the top float on board, it first has to be caught! A hook is lowered with a control rope (white, to the right of the line) and not unlike that arcade game where you maneuver a joy stick to pick up a prize, the top float is hooked." Aboard the Canadian Coast Guard icebreaker Louis S. St-Laurent, on the Beaufort Sea.
