River Beauty, also known as Dwarf Fireweed. As an herb, fireweeds are a source of nutrients, particularly in the early spring. The early, tender shoots contains vitamins A and C and are edible raw or lightly steamed. Leaves and flowers can be used as a tea. It may have a laxative effect -- use in moderation. Kodiak, Alaska.
