Elke Bergholz on the roof of the Atmospheric research Observatory filling bottles with air for a laboratory in California. NOAA is helping out other laboratories and is collecting and shipping air from the South Pole for their research. This air is used as the control for the world. On the roof of the Atmospheric Research Observatory (ARO), a quarter of a mile away from the main building of the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, Antarctica.
