Elke Bergholz inside the Clean Air Sector outside the Atmospheric Research Observatory. She is folding the hose that collected the air form this area for further analysis. The field case contains special bottles for collecting CO2. This area has the cleanest air on earth and is used as the control. No plane is allowed to fly over this area and no one is allowed to enter this are without permission. In the background is the ARO building. The bottles inside the field case are then shipped to the NOAA lab in Boulder, Colorado. At the Clean Air Sector outside the Atmospheric Research Observatory (ARO), a quarter of a mile away from the main building of the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station, Antarctica.
